So I was walking by, actually on my way to stuff my face with something delicious, and I found these people on the side of the road. They gave me a flyer, but it was actually a print-out of this article about Michele Bachmann’s crazy accusations against one of Clinton’s aids. Anyway, I had read about this before and had discussed it with my political buddies and we all agreed that she’s super dumb.
It took me a half-block until I read the whole page and decided to turn around and talk with the folks. Apparently they’re there every Friday from 5pm-7pm (since 2002) and they call themselves the Glendale Peace Vigil (I live in Glendale,CA). It’s kinda refreshing to see an anti-war group since most of them are backed by extreme ideologies these days (damn libertarians). The group consisted of several knowledgeable old people who held up signs and passed out articles and information for the general public, free of charge. The idea is just to spread the word and inform people about these kinds of things, which is also very refreshing since I wasn’t asked to donate anything! Woohoo!
I like them. They’re cool old people who don’t seem crazy.
