Obama, Foreign Policy, and what Romney can do about it.

Short commentary on possible campaigning strategy?

President Obama has had a good streak on foreign policy issues up until recently with these attacks on our embassies and ambassador. His situation kind of alludes to that of Jimmy Carter because of the horrid economy and attacks on embassies. Let’s just hope none of them get stormed and replicate the hostage situation!

Mitt Romney has been extremely eager to criticize President Obama on his foreign policy choices no matter what he does, because of course this is his negative campaigning at work. Romney however hasn’t given much enthusiasm towards his ideal foreign policies towards this changing world. He still preaches for an American-Israeli alliance and for a strong defense budget, but what must he say when it comes to situations like these when it seems like there can be little done on our part as foreigners sitting in other countries?

The Libyan situation may slip out of control without a stable government, but we CAN still rely on our old Egyptian friends… well not so much old since President Morsi is very much new; however it is very likely that the Egyptian-American alliance can be potentially as strong as an Israeli-American alliance even today. President Morsi must of course respect our international presence by protecting the American embassy and ensuring that no further harm can come upon our citizens if he wants to remain at peace with Washington.

Egypt will receive $1 billion in debt relief from the U.S., along with another $1B from the EU. It would be politically unwise to let the Egyptian protesters continue their non-peaceful protests near the embassies.

Anyway, going back to Mitt Romney now and what he can do about all of this…
Romney must emphasize the foreign policy faults of President Obama during the presidential debates. If Obama can get away with the economy which he seems to have done from seeing the polls after the DNC, then he sure as hell can’t get away with his foreign policy choices. Sure he killed Bin Laden, but Romney can definitely poke at him for missed opportunities such as aggression towards the Chinese for their island hoarding games, and of course the giant debate concerning Iran-Israel.
Being known as a very religious man, he of course would command the evangelical voters when it comes to the defense of Israel… even though Iran is of no threat right now.. but of course, such is politics in the 21st century :P

Overall, penis.

Absence and Consumption

So I have been absent from Tumblr for a few months and for those of you who care, I have been busy studying about economics and other subjects.

My recent books have been on the history of the CIA, the history of Russia, the Paul Volcker era of the Federal Reserve, Paul Krugman’s recent book, a book by Ha-Joon Chang on the negative effects of free trade imposed on smaller economies, a short history on famous economists from Adam Smith to Joseph Schumpeter to Keynes and beyond by Robert Heilbroner called “The Worldly Philosophers.” My current reading is of Freud, Joseph A. Schumpeter, and a book called “Currency Wars.”

The reason why I haven’t been posting recently is probably because I feel inadequate. My postings would probably involve rants about things I don’t entirely know about, although I know more than the average Joe about economics, politics, and history. My economics classes have been brutal lately since I’m getting into econometrics (queue hate mail from libertarians).

Anyway, I’m done with the feeling of not knowing enough and I’m reading to convert the masses and create a new opium for all of you called “realpolitik.” We shall discuss the opinions of Realpolitiks.tumblr.com with relation to economics and current events with enthusiasm and complete obedience!

The conflict with the recent Obama v Romney campaigns have been very fascinating to watch and from my recent readings I think the one thing to watch out for is Romney screwing up first during the debates. They’re both formidable debaters, but I believe Obama can hold his own now that he has 4 years under his belt.

For my past posts in my older blog with the same name (which I deleted to remake shortly after (this is it) ), I mostly debated extremist libertarians since I see a lot of Paulbots on Facebook and 4Chan. Now that the presidential election is nearing, I’m going to forget the existence of Paulbots since they’re virtually insignificant at this point when we come near Romney v Obama debates. I am extremely excited about seeing the two clash and will probably order some pizza and invite my political buddies to watch the debates with me. ER MER GERD I AM SO EXCITED.

Gary Johnson

It’s funny how those libertarians who wanted to vote for Ron Paul so badly have lost the spirit to endorse Gary Johnson. They’re still delusional and want to write in Ron Paul’s name, as if their votes were to mean anything between Romney and Obama…

Sorry Obama, I’m not stimulating this economy fast enough :( I have failed you.
I am a bit short on cash, so I’m spending my money with fat corporations like book publishers and video game companies. I don’t often have enough cash to spare on family restaurants like this one in Glendale. I have heard plenty of good reviews about the Toasted Bun restaurant, and I always drive past it without realizing that it’s a restaurant.
Damn, if only I could have done more. If only I could have bought another cheeseburger… if only I had spent an extra $1.95 on fries and a soda… the economy would have been a better place today.
I WAS SO SELFISH. I WAS A FOOL!!!
I didn’t consider… the business owner. The small business man is having such a difficult time competing with other giant fast food industries. Damn Damn Damn I am so ashamed of my modest wealth.
Please, just give the rich people some more money. Please sir, tax my wealth and take it forcefully so I can stop having money left over after my modest expenses on cheaper food and the occasional books. I don’t deserve this.
BUT. But…. there is hope. The rich can stimulate the shit out of this economy. Please leave them with more money, oh please. They will buy that extra burger, that I never could. They will buy that extra soda, that I never tasted… that THE ECONOMY never tasted.
Please sir, help an economy in need. I have done all that I could, but it was not enough ;_; Sadness.

Although the Europeans, Japanese, and Americans have pushed interest rates to 0%, Asian countries have not.
China still holds a firm 6%, while India, China, and Russia all hold about 8%.
I would be interested in seeing what their growth rates would be like if they introduced some heavy monetary stimulus. I don’t mean to imply that their growth rates aren’t already high, but I wonder if it would have much of an effect on the world economy.
Either way, I believe the U.S. is in for a fun little surprise once we realize that Mitt Romney’s tax returns don’t matter as much as the financial crisis ahead of us if the Eurozone goes to shit.

As much as I’m not a fan of Ron Paul….
Sometimes he’s needed in debates, and it would be a great opportunity to get some of his opinions onto the grand stage of politics. I would enjoy seeing Romney v Paul v Obama in a debate where each of them get equal time slots for arguments.. although I realize that is unlikely.
It’s not that I endorse Ron Paul, it’s that I would enjoy it if Americans understood the criticisms of our current candidates from a libertarian perspective, because that seems to be lacking as of recent times. I mostly say this because of unintelligent political pundits on television who believe in what they’re saying although they are fundamentally wrong about some of the economics of political aspects of their thoughts. For example, I was watching MSNBC and a speaker did not understand the fractional reserve system of banking. That deserves a good face palming, don’t you think?
If the people on television take the responsibility of providing us with news, I believe that they should also take responsibility for understanding some advanced economics/politics/philosophies in order to better communicate world news and reasons for certain events going on.
Anyway, democracy is full of stupid people. Nuff said.

Isn’t it interesting how none of our candidates are making much fuss about the financial crisis still trying to be resolved in the Eurozone? It is an important fact that Europe is a large trading partner of the United States, and that their economic conditions affect our trade and economy.
